Share A File On A Nomadesk Fileserver From Your Own Email Client

All files that reside on a Nomadesk Fileserver can be easily shared with the Nomadesk FileLink™ feature. The Nomadesk FileLink feature is a quick and easy way to create a public download link to any file on your Nomadesk Fileserver. With this feature, Nomadesk lets you send a pre-formatted email with the file download location directly from Nomadesk.
In some cases however, you might prefer sending the public download link from your own email client program so you can freely choose the style, content and originator of the email.
How?
1. Start by creating a FileLink as you normally would:
- Select the file you wish to share and right-click the file (Windows) or use Ctrl+F (Mac).
- Choose Nomadesk Tools > Send FileLink.
- Enter your own email address in the To field, type a subject and a message, and click Send.
2. Copy the URL from the FileLink email you just received and paste it in a new email which you can fully customize and send to your recipient(s).
When your recipients click this link, they will be redirected to a secured Nomadesk website from which they can download the file.
Note: Since the FileLink was created with your own email address, you will get a confirmation that you accessed this FileLink each time someone clicks the FileLink (if you selected the confirmation option ). If you need to know who accessed the FileLink, send the FileLink directly from Nomadesk. The choice is yours….
