Nomadesk released an updated version of the mobile access site last week. With the release of the new mynomadesk.mobi site, your fileservers and important documents are even easier to access. The new mobile site is updated for all smartphones and optimized for the iPhone. In our first installment of Tips & Tricks we’ll show you how Nomadesk takes advantage of iPhone functions by allowing you to create a button on your home screen with a few simple steps to make it even easier to access.
Open the Safari browser on your iPhone and navigate to mynomadesk.mobi. When the login screen is loaded, tap on the “+” at the bottom of the screen.

An option screen will pop up from the bottom. Tap on the middle button, “Add to Home Screen”.

A dialog screen will appear with the option to label the home screen button. Click the “add” button in the top right of the screen when you’re done with the label. Hint: The home screen will only show the first 12 characters.

The icon is now on your home screen and selecting it will take you directly to the login screen of mynomadesk.mobi where your synced files will be ready for you to access. The Nomadesk icon can be moved and arranged like an app icon.

This is nice but doesn’t really become handy. I compared Nomadesk to Dropbox and can’t see myself using this mobile access website when dropbox offered a BLAZING fast real Iphone app
Are you guys working on the real thing or it will always be a website/slow access ?
Let me know because I need to decide what to choose for online backup
Thanks for the feedback. We are in the preliminary stages of mobile apps. At this point we cannot say how soon it will be available. The backend of Nomadesk has recently been upgraded with online speeds increasing significantly. Feature-for-feature, you’ll find Nomadesk to be a great value.
