A Note from Nomadesk CEO, Darren Trumeter
November 3, 2011 by Darren Trumeter · 2 Comments
I wanted to send a note to the customers of Nomadesk, and share with you my current view on the company, as well as review product and service plans.
First, on behalf of all of us at Nomadesk, I would like to say thank you for your dedication to our solution. We are having an exciting year with phenomenal revenue and user growth. Most important, Nomadesk is adding more value to our solution. I’m optimistic that you will be pleased with our progress, as we have every intention of making your work easier by improving the speed and simplicity of sharing files.
Secondly, last month we completed a survey of our customers and many of you shared your thoughts. I was thrilled to see so many happy customers.
I have been working with the management team to drive improvements in 5 primary areas:
- Better customer support coverage
- Improvement in our solution’s user experience and solution process to make file sharing easier
- New and beneficial features that add value to the file sharing process
- Major improvements in the speed of our solution
- An updated look and feel to our website
We are making progress on all fronts. Over the next couple of weeks we will be making announcements about these improvements on our blog and Facebook page. So please check them out.
To close, I’m excited about where we are going with our product, and am asking you to freely share your thoughts and ideas when you can with our product team.
Thanks,
Darren Trumeter
CEO
Nomadesk

Glad to hear Nomadesk is surging ahead!
Some suggestions:
_______________________________
When forwarding from e-mail, the ability to create a folder name would be brilliant (currently the forwarded attached files go into a new folder named after the e-mail account that forwarded them).

A couple of suggestions for iPod Touch/iPhone users:
- integration with QuickOffice would be fantastic, i.e. ability to save to/from Nomadesk direct from QuickOffice on iOS. This is possible with Box.net and iDisk, among others, but I’d prefer to use Nomadesk.
_________________________________
- ability to swivel the Nomadesk iPod Touch/iPhone app sideways to “landscape” view to reveal the full filename for documents that have slightly longer filenames. Currently, in “portrait-only” view, if I have documents with similar names:
this_is_my_document_here_today_ORIGINAL.doc
this_is_my_document_here_today_TRANSLATED.doc
this_is_my_document_here_today_PROOFREAD.doc
this_is_my_document_here_today_FINAL.doc
- when viewing on the Nomadesk online server via the iOS app, I have to go into each file to check the document properties such as the timestamp in order to guess/figure out which of these filenames to choose from the list because all I can see is (e.g.):
this_is_my_document_here_tod….
this_is_my_document_here_tod….
this_is_my_document_here_tod….
this_is_my_document_here_tod….
- so it’s a pain to figure out which is which, especially when I’m in a hurry, as I usually am if working on the move.
If the app could swivel (as many other apps do) to take advantage of the width of the device’s screen for reading longer lines, I’d be able to see which file is which at a glance.

Keep up the good work!
Thanks so much for the feedback and support Shirley! I will definitely pass on your suggestions to our developers!
